🌞 New

  • Minecraft's Copper update has elevated tin to a material used in armour, weapons and tools (it finally gets its own nugget!)
  • Tin and bronze items have been added to various different loot tables across the game, closely matching vanilla's conventions
  • Sickle can now pluck flowers in an area with Right Click
  • The sickle's effective area can be tweaked from 1 to 10 blocks in the config file

⚙️ Changes

  • The mod's approach to balance has shifted with the copper update. Instead of bronze being an upgrade over iron, it's now more of a sidegrade. It still has better durability and enchantability, but has been nerfed overall. (Tin is a sidegrade to copper, but has more extreme differences than bronze does to iron)
  • Tin is now more plentiful and appears in slightly larger veins. This balances it better as a material you can use for gear in the early game
  • Existing tin textures have been updated to match the colour scheme of tin weapons/tools/armour
  • Sickle
    • changed enchanting to be anvil only, and can only be enchanted with the same enchantments as shears can
    • changed classification, no longer a tool for mining blocks faster (was overlapping hoe). It's now in the same class as shears, rather than a tiered tool.
    • renamed sickle_aoe to sickle_mow (update datapacks that include this file to the new name!)
    • added sickle_pluck, which includes blocktags for flowers, which are now harvestable with right click.

🛠️ Fixes

  • Aligned bronze (and tin) axes with vanilla's convention. This is technically a damage buff for the items, but should always have been this way.

  • Create Mod recipe for heated bronze mixing (similar to creating brass)
  • Added Tin Nugget this is mainly for compatibility/parity with create's recipes so everything makes sense, but will have an expanded role in 1.21.10+ with tin gear
  • Added simple text file config for disabling tin generation this will have more options in 1.21.10+

⚙️ Changes

  • Updated bronze nugget texture it was previously a flipped iron nugget with colour changes, and even had shadows and highlights in the wrong place

⚙️ Changes

  • Sickle aoe mowing is no longer restricted to just short and tall grass, and has been made extensible. To add compatibility for any block, target data/bronze/tags/block/sickle_aoe.json

🔧 Fixes

  • All mod crops should work with sickle right click aoe harvest now. This fix targeted farmer's delight but theoretically fixed other mod crops too. Please report any other incompatibilities on the Github tracker.
  • Sickle now takes damage when mining blocks
  • Sickle 'ghost' enchantment bug fixed, side effect being that sickles can now take a wider array of enchantments, more similar to a hoe
  • Fix sound type for tin ore and tin deepslate ore

⚠️ Warning

  • If you are upgrading from an world on a previous version of Bronze, make a backup!!. Any armour trimmed with bronze or tin as a trimming material will no longer be trimmed when you load your world (but will otherwise remain the same).
  • Bronze and Tin trimming materials will return in the future, but this mod relied on a library for it when it was Fabric-only, and the feature has unfortunately had to be axed in the move to multiloader.

    • AoE crop harvesting now done with use instead of attack (right click)
    • New particle/swipe animation for harvesting
    • Low chance for harvesting to yield 2-5 bonemeal

    • Now enchantable with fortune and silk touch too (works off vanilla loot tables)
